Workers’ Compensation

Protects both the employees and the employer.  WC insures that employees are taken care of financially in the result of a workplace injury.  This includes medical and rehabilitation costs and income for the employee during this time of recovery.  WC also protects the business from being sued.  Coverage and benefits vary by state.  The laws governing WC are written to utilize a no fault concept, meaning that no matter who is at fault, the insurance will cover the incident.  However, there are instances when fault may be allowed: illegal activity, drugs, or alcohol use, to name a few.

Incidences that are usually covered:

  • Any on the job injury
  • Repetitive motion injury, ie: carpal tunnel
  • Lung and Breathing issues as a result of work performed
  • Medical Costs
  • Rehabilitation costs
  • Income replacement
  • Liability – protection of business from a lawsuit
  • Death and Dismemberment
